Sometimes my friends don't have a lot of money to spend on birthdays, but we do tend to throw one hell of a party. We also have some very creative people amongst us. These pictures are from Mike's Birthday in 2000 (I can't remember how old he turned). He's been nicknamed "Rookie", which in reality is very ironic. As he was originally given the name due to his youth and incoming stature in the Cal Poly Theatre Department. However, now, he is pretty much a demi-god of it. So don't let the name fool you.
Rookie was born on the same day as Julie, so we threw a combined party for them. We all chipped in, and bought Rookie something he truly loved...a table saw (hey...I didn't say he wasn't a sick bastard). Notice that his birthday card was piece of plywood. That was his first hint =)
I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I think I captured the mood well. The only subject in these pictures not wearing a Burger King crown (those two are Rookie and Julie if you haven't figured that out yet) is Michelle. Michelle is one of Rookies roomates, the kick ass organizer of both the present and the party, and a very longtime and dear friend of mine.
