On a cold and rainy evening in February, we begun yet another tradition (I hope). Last year, Matt's friend Lisa put together a Gothic celebration, and enlisted the aid of our friend Matt. The Party was dubbed "October Rust", and thus the legend was born. February Mourning is a follow up to October Rust. A black celebration of the Gothic culture, feeling, and heart--complete with atmposhere, dancing, drinks, and plenty of darkness.
And so we came out of Shadow--Out of Time...
We gathered together under the cover of night. No need for "sacred ground" nor "holy rituals". We do not subscribe to the silly superstitions of the religeons of light. We eat their fears. We can become their nightmares. We will always remain their desire.
We Gathered in a dark place--celebrating everything and nothing with laughter, and thought, and heat. In this cold, wet, time...we kept the fire alive.
There was dancing in a room so dark, even the camera flash sometimes failed to illuminate the festivities...
We had our own stairway to Heaven (okay...it was the bathroom), and we used it in both directions.
A number of the celebrants, spirits, goddesses, angels, and demons offered a peek at their souls...
(That last picture is my personal favorite)
I didn't get any pictures of our Hostess, Lisa. Raising the question whether she can be photographed at all. I DID manage to get a few of our co-host, Matt.
He produced the entire muscial and visual environment from his computer. Technology has gone too far.
And did I forget to mention that we had a number of THESE at the celebration as well?
Here is a shot of Marc, being his usual, far-too-serious self. And I'm not allowed to tell you what Jill and Jessica were doing behind the trailer, on threat of no more special favors for me =)
And finally, here's a rarity...a picture of me. I'm sandwiched between my two "daughters" (don't ask...it's a long and uncomfortable story).
